European traders returned from a long weekend to push the STOXX 600 up 0.8% to 435.7 points. It has climbed more than 60% from last year’s lows and surpassed its previous all-time high of 433.90 points in February 2020.

Brent fell 96 cents, or 1.5%, to $63.90 a barrel. WTI was at $60.56 a barrel, down 89 cents, or 1.5%.

Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 916,000 in March, and the unemployment rate edged down to 6.0 percent,

Brent rose $1.94, or 3.1%, to $64.68 a barrel. WTI was up $2.10, or 3.6%, at $61.26 a barrel.

The OPEC+ alliance will raise its collective output caps by 350,000 b/d in May, another 350,000 b/d in June, and 441,000 b/d in July.

Brent rose 32 cents, or 0.5%, to $64.46 a barrel. WTI climbed 26 cents, or 0.4%, to $60.81 a barrel.

OPEC+ will discuss whether to revive part of the 1.2 million barrels a day of output it’s committed to returning to the market in installments this year. At the same time, the Saudis will review the status of an additional 1 million barrel-a-day cut they have been making since February to accelerate the process of clearing the lingering oil glut.

The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index fell 0.9% to 14,713 and the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex dropped 1% to 49,631, as of 0511 GMT.

Australian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export earnings are forecast to fall from $48 billion in 2019-20 to $33 billion in 2020-21 due to weaker global prices and demand.
