ADNOC: ROBUST ENERGY DEMAND
"As we convene today, short term energy demand has continued to soften in response to current downside risks in the global economy. However, over the medium and long-term, the outlook remains positive, solid, and robust. By 2040, three times the amount of energy consumed by all of Europe will be added to global energy demand. In the face of current economic headwinds, we need to control costs, while staying focused on capital efficiency and targeted long-term investment," Dr. Al Jaber noted.

GECF: EXCEPTIONAL GROWTH
The Russian Energy Minister noted that 2018 was an exceptional year for growth for the natural gas industry with consumption recording a 5% growth, the fastest growth since 2010, to average 3.95 Tcm. The trade in 2018 was also characterized by a significant growth where global pipeline gas trade increased by almost 8%, including re-export operations in Europe. LNG trade growth continued exponentially with 10% for the second consecutive year, averaging a level of around 320 Mt.

CHINA LEFT IRAN $4.8 BLN
Iran's Petropars will now develop the Phase 11 of the gas project, which was signed in 2017. CNPC was supposed to take Total's 50.1% stake in the project on top of its initial 30% share.

U.S., UKRAINE GAS IMPEACHMENT
Mr Zlochevsky, the owner of Burisma, Ukraine’s largest private gas company which acquired several of its extraction licences while he was in government, had lost a political patron when Mr Yanukovich was evicted from office. Weeks later the energy tycoon sought help elsewhere. Burisma made a surprise appointment to its board: Hunter Biden, younger son of then-US vice-president Joe Biden.
