CHINA'S NUCLEAR PROJECT
China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) and China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) have entered into a strategic cooperation framework agreement, CEEC has told the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The document was signed in Beijing on 7 January by Wu Yun, deputy general manager of CEEC, and Li Qingtang, deputy general manager of CNNC.

GLOBAL NUCLEAR POWER DOWN
Global nuclear generating capacity stood at 392.4 GWe net at the end of 2019, down slightly on 2018, according to data from World Nuclear Association. Six power reactors were added to the grid last year and construction of three large reactor projects started, while nine units were permanently shut down.

RUSSIA'S SAFE NUCLEAR FUEL
The first Russian-made nuclear fuel assemblies with experimental accident-tolerant fuel rods (ATF) for commercial reactor have been manufactured and passed acceptance inspection at Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant, a fabrication facility of ROSATOM’s TVEL Fuel Company.

UZBEKISTAN'S NUCLEAR POWER
Four projects aimed at building up Uzbekistan's technical capacity, human resources, developing nuclear infrastructure, and strengthening nuclear and radiation safety have been approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA's) board of governors. The Central Asian country aims to have two nuclear power reactors in operation by 2030.
