WNN - The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and First Light Fusion are collaborating on a project to convert fusion reactions into heat to enable clean power production. The 'fusion island' project is to be partly funded by a grant from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

ADNOC - The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced its successful collaboration with IBM, piloting a Blockchain-based automated system to integrate oil and gas production across the full value chain.

U.S. DT - U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven T. Mnuchin and Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness today signed an Energy Framework to foster cooperation on energy and infrastructure investment in Jamaica. Secretary Mnuchin and Prime Minister Holness signed the Framework to Strengthen Infrastructure Investment and Energy Cooperation at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Framework is part of a U.S. initiative called America Crece, or the Americas Grow.

IMF - Britain's growth is projected to remain around 1½ percent going forward, under a baseline scenario that assumes a smooth transition to a broad free trade agreement with the EU.

PLATTS - Abu Dhabi's state-owned oil company, ADNOC, said Sunday it signed a deal with Total, granting the French major a 40% stake in the Ruwais Diyab unconventional gas concession.

WNN - Advanced Nuclear Technologies - otherwise known as small nuclear or small reactor technologies - encompass a wide range of nuclear reactor technologies under development, BEIS noted. "The common attributes that these technologies share is that they are smaller than conventional nuclear power station reactors and are designed so that much of the plant can be fabricated in a factory environment and transported to site, reducing construction risk and making them less capital-intensive," it said.

PLATTS - Ukraine is looking at different ways to use its vast gas transit network should Kiev fail to agree a new transit deal with Russia's Gazprom once their existing contract expires at the end of 2019, a senior Ukrainian politician said.

WNN - Toshiba Corp is withdrawing from its nuclear new-build project in the UK and plans to wind up NuGeneration (NuGen), its board of directors decided at a meeting today.

INTERFAX-UKRAINE - The final price of gas for households (taking into account transportation, distribution costs and VAT) will be UAH 8,548.92 per 1,000 cubic meters (a rise of 22.9% on the price that is in effect since April 1, 2017), and for municipal heat supply enterprises – UAH 8,361.85 per 1,000 cubic meters (a rise of 22.8%).

WNN - The UK and Canada signed a bilateral Nuclear Cooperation Agreement (NCA), the third such agreement signed by the UK this year in preparation for its exit from the European Union. It will allow the UK and Canada to continue their "mutually beneficial" civil nuclear cooperation when current European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) arrangements cease to apply in the UK, Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) said.
