MSATO project 22770 is intended for the technological and maintenance of the nuclear power plants on marine vessels and is expected to be put into operation in 2029.

The Paks II project was launched in 2014 by an inter-governmental agreement between Hungary and Russia for two VVER-1200 reactors (units 5&6) to be supplied by Rosatom.

There is increasing market acceptance of Russian SMRs, despite Western geopolitical pressures. Numerous countries in Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, which agreed an SMR investment with Rosatom, using a RITM200 reactor commissioned to build it by 2026.

The floating power units developed by Rosatom are based on the RITM-200 reactors which have been used for the latest generation of nuclear-powered icebreakers.

The MoUs were signed by Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev and Burkina Faso's Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Yacouba Zabre Guba, on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
