U.S. commercial crude oil inventories increased by 6.1 million barrels from the previous week to 427.0 million barrels.

Brent gained 67 cents, or 0.8%, to $83.85 a barrel. WTI climbed 62 cents, or 0.8%, to $81.06 a barrel.
