FT - The UK’s nuclear “new build” programme is intended to help replace large amounts of dirty coal-fired power generating capacity and old nuclear plants due to be decommissioned in coming years.

PENNENERGY - Danish conglomerate AP Moller-Maersk said Friday it will invest 21 billion kroner ($3.4 billion) together with British-Dutch oil producer Shell, among others, to redevelop and extend the production life cycle of Denmark's largest gas field in the North Sea.

УКРТРАНСГАЗ - According to Ukrtransgaz’ performance results in the first nine months of 2017, capital investments in Ukraine’s gas transmission facilities increased by 46% or UAH 486 million compared to the same period of 2016, Ukrtransgaz public and media relations department reports.

BLOOMBERG - West Texas Intermediate for January delivery was at $57.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 2:02 p.m. in Seoul, down 43 cents. The contract gained 96 cents to settle at $58.36 on Friday. Total volume traded was about 21 percent below the 100-day average. Brent for February settlement dropped 36 cents to $63.37 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange. Prices added $1.10, or 1.8 percent, to close at $63.73 on Friday. The global benchmark crude was at a premium of $5.43 to February WTI.

BEA - The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that the goods and services deficit was $48.7 billion in October, up $3.8 billion from $44.9 billion in September, revised. October exports were $195.9 billion, down less than $0.1 billion from September exports. October imports were $244.6 billion, $3.8 billion more than September imports.

BLOOMBERG - Libya, which has been stepping up efforts to boost oil output, will maintain its current production level until the end of next year to stay in line with OPEC’s agreement to trim global supplies.

PLATTS - Colder weather outlooks for major heating regions support the upside, while the recent and impending lackluster pace of storage erosion is keeping downward pressure on the market. At 6:50 am ET (1150 GMT) the contract was 5.2 cents lower at $2.933/MMBtu.

PENNENERGY - significant deposits already discovered in the east Mediterranean, including Israel's Leviathan field are "just the tip of the iceberg" and that "it's very likely" that more gas will be found in Cypriot waters.

IMF - Overall, the system is stable. We have had a turbulent period in the last couple of years. Bad loans increased, and profits and credit growth slowed down. This period seems to have come to an end and the economy and the banking sector are getting healthier.

BAKER HUGHES, A GE - The worldwide rig count for November 2017 was 2,057, down 20 from the 2,077 counted in October 2017, and up 379 from the 1,678 counted in November 2016.

EIA - In August 2017, total U.S. natural gas liquefaction capacity in the Lower 48 states increased to 2.8 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) following the completion of the fourth liquefaction unit at the Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Louisiana. With increasing liquefaction capacity and utilization, U.S. LNG exports averaged 1.9 Bcf/d, and capacity utilization averaged 80% this year, based on data through November.

РОСАТОМ - 6 декабря 2017 года в 19:53 специалисты эксплуатационных служб Ростовской АЭС (г. Волгодонск, филиал Концерна «Росэнергоатом, входит в крупнейший дивизион «Росатома» - электроэнергетический) успешно загрузили в реактор энергоблока №4 первые тепловыделяющие сборки (ТВС).

РОСАТОМ - АЭС России (филиалы Концерна «Росэнергоатом») за период с января по ноябрь 2017 года увеличили совокупную выработку электроэнергии на 4,1% по сравнению с тем же периодом 2016 года.

РОСАТОМ - По контракту на вторую очередь АЭС, подписанному в ноябре 2014 года, на площадке вблизи уже действующего энергоблока №1 будут сооружены два блока российского дизайна суммарной мощностью 2100 МВт.

WNN - The UK's Nuclear Industry Council (NIC) has today published its proposals for a nuclear Sector Deal. The document follows the government's publication last month of its Industrial Strategy white paper, which states the nuclear sector is "integral to increasing productivity and driving growth" in the UK.
