The United States plans to deploy 30 GW of offshore wind in the country by 2030.

Vietnam has 600 MW of wind capacity, including 99 MW offshore, accounting for less than 1% of the country’s installed capacity (69 GW in 2020).

China Three Gorges Renewables (75% owned by China Three Gorges Corporation) had a total capacity of 11.9 GW as of September 2020, with 58% of wind, 40% of solar and 2% of small hydro.

Overall, nuclear energy is riskier and has a worse environmental impact than wind energy, while wind is enormously less costly.

The project is expected to cost NOK30-35bn (€2.9-3.4bn).
