Shell, the world’s largest fuel retailer, said it expected a 40% drop in sales in the second quarter from a year earlier to about 4 million barrels per day (bpd), although that is more than its earlier prediction of a drop to 3.5 million bpd.

SHELL INVESTMENT DOWN TO $20 BLN
Today, we are announcing that we have embarked on a series of operational and financial initiatives that are expected to result in:
reduction of underlying operating costs by $3-4 billion per annum over the next 12 months compared to 2019 levels;
reduction of cash capital expenditure to $20 billion or below for 2020 from a planned level of around $25 billion; and
material reductions in working capital.

GLOBAL LNG MARKET UP 12.5%
Global demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) grew by 12.5% to 359 million tonnes in 2019, according to Shell’s latest annual LNG Outlook published today – a significant increase that bolsters LNG’s growing role in the transition to a lower-carbon energy system.
