U.S. commercial crude oil inventories decreased by 4.7 million barrels from the previous week to 423.6 million barrels.

Brent rose 1 cent, or 0.01%, to $73.99 a barrel, WTI rose 12 cents, or 0.1%, to $71.24 a barrel.

Gas prices continued to soar Dec. 21 across the board with assessing TTF front-month at a record Eur180.30/MWh, up 23% on the days and also doubling since Dec. 6.

Brent was down 8 cents, or 0.1%, at $71.44 a barrel, WTI rose 5 cents, or 0.1%, to $68.66 a barrel.

Brent fell $2.14, or 2.9%, to $71.38 a barrel, WTI fell $2.45, or 3.5%, to $68.41 a barrel.

Brent fell 91 cents, or 1.2%, to $72.79 a barrel, WTI fell $1.05, or 1.5%, to $69.68 a barrel.

It is unusual for European LNG prices to surpass spot LNG prices in Asia, which relies on LNG imports much more than Europe, and especially in peak winter when demand from Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan is at its highest, supporting the typical Asian premium.
