The price of Brent crude oil to increase from its December 2020 average of $50 per barrel (b) to an average of $56/b in the first quarter of 2021. The Brent price is then expected to average between $51/b and $54/b on a quarterly basis through 2022.

Brent fell 47 cents, or 0.8%, to $55.61 a barrel. WTI fell 43 cents, or 0.8%, to $52.88 a barrel.

The blue-chip CSI300 index rose 1.6% to 5,564.97, while the Shanghai Composite Index added 1.1% to 3,621.26.

The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index rose 0.4% to 14,574 and the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.3% at 49,544.75

Brent rose 46 cents to $55.21 a barrel. WTI was at $52.40 a barrel, up 4 cents.

S&P 500 futures rising 0.6% and Nasdaq futures up 0.9% after the long holiday weekend.

U.S. Rig Count is up 13 from last week to 373, Canada Rig Count is up 44 from last week to 161.

Brent was down 71 cents, or 1.2%, at $55.71 a barrel. WTI was 46 cents, or 0.9%, lower at $53.11 a barrel.

For 2021, global oil demand is forecast to increase by 5.9 mb/d y-o-y to average 95.9 mb/d.

The OPEC+ alliance, led by Saudi Arabia and Russia, decided in December after days of heated negotiations to ease their stringent quotas by a collective 500,000 b/d for January, instead of the originally scheduled 2 million b/d tapering.

Spot LNG prices LNG-AS have nearly tripled since early November as freezing temperatures across North Asia boosted demand and depleted inventories. Since July, prices are up a dizzying 1,000%.
