A hydrogen production facility will be connected to the HTTR owned by JAEA to develop hydrogen production technology utilising the reactor’s high temperature heat.

According to the IAEA, Russia currently has four reactors under construction, including the first-of-its-kind VVER-TOI design at Kursk.
