ASIA'S NUCLEAR POWER BENEFITS
In 2018 a total of 533 TWh of electricity generated in Asia was from nuclear power. This was 12% higher than the previous year, and 60% higher than in 2012. Nuclear generation in Asia now represents 21% of total electricity generation.

RUSSIA'S NUCLEAR ACCIDENT-TOLERANT FUEL
Russia has completed the first phase of nuclear accident-tolerant fuel (ATF) reactor testing at a government research facility. The achievement paves the way for ATF testing at a Russian commercial nuclear plant, which could begin in 2020.

SAUDI ARABIA'S POWER PLANT $11.5 BLN
Saudi Aramco announced its intention to establish the Jazan Power Joint Venture. The JV will be 46% owned by Air Products, 25% by ACWA Power, 20% by Saudi Aramco and 9% by Air Products Qudra.

U.S. GDP UP 1.9%
Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 1.9 percent in the third quarter of 2019 , according to the "advance" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the second quarter, real GDP increased 2.0 percent.

U.S. FEDERAL FUNDS RATE 1.5 - 1.75%
Consistent with its statutory mandate, the Committee seeks to foster maximum employment and price stability. In light of the implications of global developments for the economic outlook as well as muted inflation pressures, the Committee decided to lower the target range for the federal funds rate to 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 percent.

SHELL Q3 CCS EARNINGS $4.8 BLN
Compared with the third quarter 2018, CCS earnings attributable to shareholders excluding identified items were $4.8 billion, reflecting lower realised oil, LNG and gas prices, as well as weaker realised refining and chemicals margins. This was partly offset by significantly stronger contributions from LNG and oil products trading and optimisation as well as higher realised margins in retail and global commercial.
