Brent climbed 21 cents, or 0.25%, to $83.48 a barrel, WTI rose 7 cents, or 0.09%, to $79.30 a barrel.

Brent rose 35 cents, or 0.4%, to $83.10 a barrel, WTI gained 40 cents, or 0.5%, to $79.03.
