Nabors Industries Ltd. reported the signing of an agreement to form a joint venture in Saudi Arabia to own, manage, and operate onshore drilling rigs. The JV, which will be equally owned by Saudi Aramco and Nabors, is expected to be formed and commence operations in second-quarter 2017.

Nabors Industries Ltd. ("Nabors") (NYSE: NBR) today reported third-quarter 2016 operating revenues of $519.7 million, compared to operating revenues of $571.6 million in the second quarter of 2016. Net income from continuing operations, attributable to Nabors, for the current quarter was a loss of $99.0 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared to a loss of $183.7 million, or $0.65 per diluted share, last quarter.

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) reported earnings of $1.3 billion ($0.68 per share – diluted) for third quarter 2016, compared with earnings of $2.0 billion ($1.09 per share – diluted) in the third quarter of 2015. Foreign currency effects increased earnings in the 2016 third quarter by $72 million, compared with an increase of $394 million a year earlier. Sales and other operating revenues in third quarter 2016 were $29 billion, compared to $33 billion in the year-ago period.

Exxon Mobil Corporation announced estimated third quarter 2016 earnings of $2.7 billion, or $0.63 per diluted share, compared with $4.2 billion a year earlier. Results reflect lower refining margins and commodity prices.

Output in the U.S. will fall 800,000 barrels a day this year, Adam Sieminski, administrator for the EIA, said in an interview in Riyadh. That would be the first drop since 2008, data compiled by Bloomberg show. OPEC’s attempts to carry out an agreement on limiting production are still “very much up in the air,” he said.

Excluding the net loss on the goodwill impairment and certain other specific items, comparable earnings for third quarter 2016 were $622 million or $0.78 per share compared to $440 million or $0.62 per share for the same period in 2015. TransCanada's Board of Directors also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.565 per common share for the quarter ending December 31, 2016, equivalent to $2.26 per common share on an annualized basis.

OPEC, which pumps about 40 percent of the world’s oil, meets on Nov. 30 in Vienna to try to implement its first cuts in eight years after agreeing to trim output in Algiers at the end of September. The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that the goods and services deficit was $36.4 billion in September, down $4.0 billion from $40.5 billion in August, revised. September exports were $189.2 billion, $1.0 billion more than August exports. September imports were $225.6 billion, $3.0 billion less than August imports.
